Our recorded total

The final tracked total was £7,896.38 for two adults and one teenager. It included flights, hotel stays, insurance, tickets, food, local transport, activities and shopping. Prices, exchange rates, dates and travel style all affect the cost of another trip.

Our budget plan had £4,839 for fixed costs, £1,650 for the daily challenge (£150 a day for 11 days) and £900 for fun money. We finished £507.38 over the original plan. The overspend is useful context: our original budget was a target, not what we ultimately spent.

Fixed costs we listed

These are the line items from our trip budget. Together they total £4,838.84; a small difference from the £4,839 budget figure is rounding.

  • Flights and 10-night main hotel: £3,440.10
  • Travel insurance: £160.00
  • Seat selection: £204.00
  • Port Orleans Riverside, one night: £224.45
  • Cabana Bay, one night: £127.32
  • Universal Park-to-Park tickets for three: £471.96
  • Bass fishing booking: £211.01

What changed the day-to-day total

We planned £150 per day for the three of us for food, snacks and local Ubers. Our daily challenge spending ended up at £1,965.52, averaging £178.68 a day. Fun money came to £1,091, which was £191 over that part of our budget.

Longer rides, activities, meals and shopping can move the total quickly. We travelled without a hire car, but our outbound Clearwater rideshare was around $129. A different family’s transport choices could change the budget substantially.

Use our total as a checklist, not a quote

To plan your own estimate, price your dates and travellers, then add the hotel pattern, bags and seats, insurance, tickets, local transport, meals, activities and a buffer. Keep fixed bookings separate from daily spending so you can see which parts are still flexible.

Our total describes what we spent in August 2026. It will not predict current fares or what another family will pay.
